As a peace builder I have been organising dialogue and reconciliation workshops in the North Caucasus. In this work my Chechen and Russian colleagues and I explore combining musical and verbal dialogues. This revolutionised our dialogue and reconciliation work. In particular, we stumble of how using music in this way can create conditions for collective ability transformation to unfold. I have researched and documented this work extensively in my PhD dissertation (Jordanger, 2021). More recently, in my work as a guide/coach I have been using music in archetype embodiment work with groups online. In this personal development work my colleagues and I have been combining guided meditations and music in a way that deepens the music experience and archetype discovery and embodiment processes.

I am a guide, facilitator, researcher and entrepreneur who have used music in various contexts in my professional work and roles since the beginning of this millennium. I have also organised music festivals in my local community for a number of years. As a researcher I have documented how combining musical and verbal dialogues can allow for the unfolding of profound relational trust and transformation processes between parties in conflict (arguably much faster and deeper compared to more conventional verbally based approaches to dialogue). Currently I'm exploring how music can be used in combination with nature-based practices in personal development and leadership development work more specifically. This could be referred to as peace building work focused on targeting structural and cultural violence, having to do with ways of being stemming from the dominant Western worldview. In this work I am among other things exploring the music tradition of the Sami people (indigenous people living in the Nordic countries and the north-west part of Russia), learning from eminent musicians who have Sami backgrounds. I'm happy to share my knowledge and expertise about how to combine musical and verbal dialogues in a variety of settings, as well as how to combine music with nature-based practices in personal development and leadership work.
