I was born in Belgium, studied in the US and the UK, and I've been living in Japan since 1991. I participated in the design and publication of one of the first collective books on the topic, entitled Music and Conflict Transformation: harmonies and dissonances in geopolitics (2008, 2015) published by I.B. Tauris (now Bloomsbury) as its editor. As an amateur pianist, when I play, I wonder about how to contribute to a better world, and as an educator, when I teach peace studies, I consider the application of music in peacebuilding activities. Besides teaching, nowadays I devote myself to the development of the MOMRI Hub as a space where new connections can emerge, between all kinds of people interested in the juxtaposition and merging of musical and peacebuilding activities.
