Mission Statement
To set up a music centre in postwar Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to bring relief to the people of BH, especially to youngsters
Activities
Workshops in guitar, classical ballet, modern dance and choir. Also Creative Music Therapy and Recording Studio offerings.
Objectives
Primary goals of the PMC were: - to set up educational-creative projects/workshops for children and young people of Mostar and surrounding areas regardless to their nationality or religion as a sort of additional education of youngsters applying new methods: to use music and art in general as the most affective and acceptable way to reach all areas of the community and to create safe environment and friendly atmosphere for children and young people led by professionals; - to bring clinical music therapy as a new approach to traumatized children and young people of B&H, especially in Mostar area (statistically the largest number of war traumatized children and young people were in Mostar) and was realized by setting up first clinical music therapy department in the Pavarotti Music Centre. Nowadays goals are: - to offer different educational and creative activities and training to children and young people adapted to their age and abilities applying new reformed educational methods with elements of creative therapy; - to offer different artistic programs to people of Mostar area in order to improve and develop cultural life of local community; - to offer different lectures and seminars; - to offer the PMC facilities to other organizations, institutions and individuals; to develop and establish relationships and cooperation with other cultural, youth, educational and social organizations locally and abroad
